The thought of changing your diet & lifestyle overwhelms you, and leaves you feeling lost on how you are ever going to reach your goals. You have been struggling to find time to focus on your health, and are now starting to really feel and see the effects of it. You are feeling run down, you haven’t been sleeping well, your skin has lost some of its youthful lustre, and your jeans are fitting a little tighter than you would like. 

Our busy lives can sometimes make it difficult for us to focus on our own health. It is so easy to become focused on the many different things happening in our lives, that we end up pushing our personal health needs to the side. It is also a commonly held belief that as we age, these things just happen. While these things are common, they don’t need to be your new normal. 

Your hormones are the driving force behind a lot of the “normal” things you feel every day. Regardless of gender, your energy levels, sleep quality, skin health and weight are greatly affected by your hormonal fluctuations. Hormones such as insulin and cortisol have such a great impact on so many different functions and processes in our bodies, and if one of them is out of whack it can start a cascade of other issues and send many other hormones into a tailspin.

Another common misconception is that insulin regulation is only important if you have been diagnosed with a blood sugar disorder such as diabetes. This is not true. It is estimated that around 80% of people actually have blood sugar imbalance, but are just completely unaware, or miss the signs their body is sending them. Fatigue after meals, weight gain around your abdomen, intense cravings, brain fog, and hunger within 3 hours of eating are ALL signs that you might have issues with your blood sugar.

But it doesn’t have to STAY an issue.
