What is Metabolic Balance®? 

Metabolic Balance® is an innovative nutrition program that uses a whole food based approach to help you balance your hormones, boost your metabolism, increase your energy, optimize your health and help you lose weight in a way that is sustainable long term. The program is backed by over 25 years of scientific research and is supported by a team of dedicated doctors and nutritional scientists in Germany. 

The foundation of the program is unique, in that it uses an in-depth analysis of 36 different blood markers, your medical history, and your personal food preferences to develop a truly individualized meal plan. This meal plan then serves as a “road map”, showing you the exact foods you should eat to orchestrate the necessary metabolic changes needed in order to reach your weight and overall health goals.

The best part about Metabolic Balance® is that it’s 100% whole food based! 

There are no prescribed injections, pills or drugs, replacement meal shakes, or proprietary foods. In addition, you will not be required to count calories, or track points, as you would with some diets. Instead, the nutrient-dense foods chosen for your meal plan can easily be purchased at your local grocery store or farmers’ market.

FAQs

How long is the Metabolic Balance® program?

You start with phase 1, which lasts two days and is the essential preparation for metabolic change. Phase 2 is the strict conversion/ detox, which we will go over in detail. Phase 2 lasts a minimum of 14 days, but typically until you have reached your desired goal. At this point you move into phase 3, which is where you add more foods into your diet and experiment how each new food makes you feel. The program culminates in phase 4, which is the maintenance phase. You can easily maintain phase 4 for a lifetime by continuing to apply the now familiar rules as the best way to nourish yourself.

How is this any different than a “fad diet”?

Metabolic Balance is not a diet in the traditional sense, but a proven method for people to learn how to eat well for them. Traditional or fad “diets” tend to result in the yo-yo effect, due to the severe restrictions on calories, fats, or carbohydrates. These heavy restrictions generally turn quickly in to food cravings, while the body tries to make up for the deprivation. This doesn't happen with Metabolic Balance®, as the meals generated have a balanced amount of all the macronutrients. You will adopt a more intuitive eating awareness, as you learn which foods are best for you and which perhaps are not. Your individual nutritional plan is your very personal road map for lasting success, and through the program you will learn more about nutrition and how it feels to truly nourish yourself, which will help you maintain your results long term.

Is it difficult to incorporate the program into a busy lifestyle?

Your meal plan is so varied that you will be able to plan well in advance and easily organize your daily meals. I can offer you some tips and tricks along the way to make meal prep easier as well.

Can I do the program if I don’t want to lose weight?

Yes of course! We take this into account when creating your plan and when specifying quantities. Following Metabolic Balance is an excellent way to learn the right foods for you and to generally improve your energy and quality of life. We will go over your individual goals in depth during our initial consultation.

Why aren’t snacks allowed on the program?

Every time we eat, the foods we ingest increase our blood sugar and insulin levels. During the Metabolic Balance® Program, one of the areas we will be focusing on will be in regulating your insulin levels, so that they stay more balanced throughout the day. The meals on your program are designed to have a sufficient amount of protein, fats, and carbohydrates so that you are able to make it between meals without needing a snack.

Do I have to eat all the foods on my plan?

All the foods listed on your plan have been identified as being the right foods for you to eat in order to bring your metabolism back into balance. These foods were chosen based off of your blood tests results and medical history information, so essentially your plan is as unique as your fingerprint! You are of course fully in control of what you choose to eat, but it is often found that many participants find many new favourite foods from their plans that they have not tried before and realize they love. Take it as a great excuse to try some new foods!

Can I participate in the Metabolic Balance® Program if I am a Vegan?

Vegetarian plans may be generated for those who eat dairy and eggs. Strict vegans cannot participate in the Metabolic Balance program unfortunately.
